Dr. Jocelyn Beggs

Veterinarian

I’m a born and raised Winnipegger, with a smattering of stays out West. I began my undergraduate degree at the University of Winnipeg with a BSc (Hons) and the intention of pursuing a career in human medicine. As life happens, I fatefully spent a spring break at a rural mixed animal practice where I watched some of the most fascinating things I had ever seen, including a calf being born, and I realized that my long-term professional goals could all be fulfilled in a single career: veterinary medicine. I graduated from WCVM in 2005.

For me, veterinary medicine provides the framework to simultaneously practice medicine, work with the animals we love, build personal relationships, and make a lasting impact on my community.

I believe firmly in strengthening the Human-Animal Bond and the concept of One Health through good preventative medicine and staying up to date on the latest advancements in medicine. I have a special interest in dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry and parasitology/zoonotic disease.

When not at work, I enjoy travelling, photography, gardening, scuba diving and surfing with my husband Sean, and we share the house with 3 apathetic roommates (felines).
